I have lived here since April of this year (2009). This place is the dump. Management is EXTREMELY rude... They had a temp working in the office who told me and my former roommate that we could pay our rent late WITHOUT late fees, since we notified them 3 weeks in advance. Obviously that wasn't true as we found out when the manager rudely explained to us how the late fees work, and wouldn't honor what the temp said even though it was HER JOB to make sure the temp is not giving out false information. If you pay rent 1 day late, you get an eviction notice on your door. We sometimes pay rent late because of our pay schedules. I was told that to avoid the legal fees of being served with eviction papers, to come in and pay what we could, fill out a "promise to pay", then when I tried to do this they say they cannot accept partial payments and do not use "promise to pay" agreements, even though I had actually already done this once before. Pools suck, always dirty or closed or full of dirty children who don't bathe. STRAY CATS EVERYWHERE. Dirty kids with foul mouths running around everywhere without any kind of supervision, and leave their toys out all over the grounds and will yell obscenities at each other right outside your window when trying to put your toddler down for a nap. ANTS EVERYWHERE!!! I have not had any water issues, water has only been shut off for us once for 1 day since we have lived here.
The utilities are a JOKE. You pay a flat 45.00 fee for electricity (included into your rent) but what they DON'T tell you, is that your A/C doesn't run on electricity, it runs on gas, so you end up paying 90.00 a month for your A/C anyways, just the same as if you paid an electric bill to SRP, except now you pay for the gas bill AND electric bill. What a ripoff.. I was excited to hear that electric was included, and that the water/sewer/trash/gas bill wouldn't be more than 40 bucks per month for my household... complete lie! Now management made it so that instead of our Ista bill (water/sewer/trash/gas) being due on the 15th (paid straight to Ista) it now has to be paid on the 1st, with our rent, directly to the property. Talk about screwing up someones budget. Just another way for them to collect their late fees. Oh, and make sure you budget for mandatory renters insurance bills too. Aftermoving here the bills just pile up. You can only get Qwest services here. Washer and dryers work just fine... Oh and if you don't want to listen to --------' fiestas on Sunday nights with their loud spanish music playing and big families with lots of kids running around, then do not live here. It's sad that to be a white american here makes you a minority. We can smell marijuana everytime we pass our neighbors apartment. Some car parked in the wrong spot and didn't move for WEEKS - windows down with trash inside - never changed. Management would not have it towed even though it legally should not have been parked on the property bc it's tags were expired... surrounding complexes are even more crime-riddn than this one, and ghetto people making drug deals are everywhere. I would not reccommend this place to anyone, especially if you have young kids. I cannot wait for our lease to be up. Plus the apartments are small - they look OK on space before you move in, but once your stuff is in it's a tight squeeze. Do not be fooled by the nice grounds with waterfalls, lily pads and goldfish, and shady trees. Nice to have but does not compensate for the rest of the crappiness of this place. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
ONE MORE THING -
I forgot to mention... when I got the keys to my apt upon move in, I walked up onto my patio and THE FRONT DOOR WAS OPEN. The screen was ripped off the window on the front and someone had opened the window and climbed in. Probably was used for drugs deals since it was merely an empty apt. When they left, I guess they thought they would just leave the door open for the new tenants. What a way to be "welcomed" to your new apartment.

I hated this complex too but what does race have to do with where you live? Absolutely nothing. You are ridiculous and the only reason you should feel like a minority is because of your close-minded stupidity. Check and Mate.
