clean, but incompetent management & staff (exceptions do apply)

Compared to other apartments in this location, the buildings and grounds are kept relatively clean. Being so close to ASU, there are evidently noise issues, but in a year of living here, I have not experienced anything out of the ordinary in terms of disturbances for living amongst students (i am not one), and near 'downtown'. I have lived in apartments in various cities throughout North America, so my expectations are grounded.

What is most frustrating at this apartment complex, is the management. While there are exceptions to the rule, many of the staff working in the main office are rude and incompetent. I have coworkers who have also lived in these buildings and experienced unfounded notices of lack of rent payment or overpaid because the system and those who operate it are unable to keep up a proper accounting system. They employ people who cannot answer any of your questions deliver notices at inopportune times of the day/night and then when you call the office the next day, nobody answers or returns your calls without you calling them three times minimum. On top of it all, they never apologize for their mistakes or compensate you for the sleep you have been robbed of due to worrying about getting vacated for not paying rent (when in actually, you did indeed, pay rent - two weeks ahead of time, or on time at the latest).

If you decide to live here - it is in a good location and again, clean, ALWAYS GET A COPY OF YOUR PAYMENTS. Do not use the drop off box for rent. Especially if you are not using checks. They will take your money and make it dissappear and then attempt to kick you out. The rent is certainly overpriced, so do not go for their upgrade scams - the upgrades are in reality, a crutty paint job and shoddy light fixtures.
