You Don't Want To Live Here!!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I lived at Riviera Village for 2 years and the last 6 months were a total nightmare!!
My next door neighbors moved out with 7 months still on their lease because it's so bad.
I had the windshield to my car broken twice by kids throwing rocks. The kids are uncontrollable at this complex. They throw rocks, break tree branches and have no respect for anyone.
The complex has no lighting in the parking lot and the lighting throughout the complex is poor. Most of the time the lights don't even work. You call to have them fixed and they work for a day and never again.
The walls are very thin, you can hear your neighbor doing dishes. The appliances are very old...the complex needs some major updating. Yes they added an exercise room, playground and business center but the money would be better spent on security and updating the interiors.
I personally called the police 3 times in the last 3 months. I had an attempted break in to my apartment which no one would do anything about. My other neighbor uses every 4 and 7 letter in the book at all hours of the night, the other neighbor talks on his cell phone outside your bedroom window at all hours of the night (in spanish) and the drugs are rampant.
Yes we do have a roach problem too which we never had until recently. They stopped spraying the outside of the complex.
Also the train does come through 3-4 times a day and shakes your apartment if you live close to the tracks.
This is not a safe neighborhood to be in at night. The homeless hang out by the building next door and the Shell station on the corner. Beware of people walking around the railroard tracks...they're usually the drug dealers or homeless.
If you can afford somewhere else to live by all means do it!
