When you see the model apartment expect the apartment that you will be living in to be very downgraded from what the actual model looks like. Very nice crystal clean pool, but not heated...ever. No Jacuzzi. Four months out of the year is probably all you will see of the pool unless you love ice cold water. The speel that you may hear that someday soon there will be private new walls around the patios is a nice sellng point, but it's never going to happen. Cockroach infestation issues in kitchens. Disgusting moldy smelling carpet/padding. As some of the other people commented, loud train horn/noise is frequent. Noise level from neighbors is very quiet and peaceful. Access to apartment is one way only. Expect extra miles and time to drive just to get to the apartment's entrance. Unreasonably small two-bedroom apartments. Square footage vs. dollar amount per month factor is unreasonable,(Yes, even for an apartment in Tempe).
To be fair, I've seen apartments in Tempe that are in much worse shape and cost just as much as the Riviera Village Apartments, so maybe these apartments would be good for a single parent or an individual that needs refuge to get from point A to point B. I would advise a year at the very most at these apartments if you cannot find a better place for now. There still are section 8'ers and automobile vandals here. There is no covered parking. Office personel are very pleasent to deal with, but the same cannot be said about the maintenince personel. The grounds are supurb and are kept very well maintained.
