Salado Springs

I'm 24 years old and have lived here for going on 18 months now -- I have to say it's a great value for the money and I've really enjoyed living here. We live right by the pool (which is available 24 hours) and the parking is more than adequate. Great location as well, within a mile or two of the 202, I-10, and US-60, so if you need to get to other parts of the valley this is a great hub. We're also just literally minutes from the airport.

Positives: Very friendly/helpful staff, great maintenance/repair timeliness, decent residents, a fair price, plenty of parking, great location, very nice pool/spa/grilling areas, high-speed Cox internet and cable availability, within walking distance from the celebrated Mill Avenue district chock-full of interesting shops, restaurants, and some great bars, and well-kept property.

Downsides: Airplane noise from the airport (although after awhile you really don't even hear it anymore, and they don't really approach this way at night so it doesn't keep you awake or anything), downtown Tempe unfortunately is a stopping point for many vagrants and drifters meaning that crime does happen in the surrounding areas, although not often inside of the community. Auto theft in Tempe is high (although my 2002 Toyota Camry has never once been tampered with, nor my roommate's Mazda 3), but that isn't the community's fault that's just the way Tempe is. Nothing bad to say about the community, but the surrounding areas can be questionable at times.
