Good and Bad....

First the bad... My first apartment here was a downstairs unit near Scottsdale Road. When I moved in, I noticed a one foot square hole in the ceiling above my shower head. Thought to myself "why is that there'" Turned out, whenever my upstairs neighbor took a shower, his water came through that hole. In addition, the unit had roaches and "pillbugs" galore (woke up one night with a roach perched on my finger, gazing deeply into my eyes...). I complained about the problems to management, but maintenance was unable to fix them (maintenance was barely competent enough to change a light bulb). Finally, they worked out a deal to move me to another unit back away from Scottsdale Road, which brings us to...
The Good... This upstairs unit was great, and I really enjoyed living there. It was fairly quiet, I felt very safe, never had any problems with car break-ins, etc. Management actually put a lot of money into the grounds while I was there: painting, a new park, improving walkways and parking lots. $25 flat rate per month for electricity is a steal. Great location - close to ASU, Mill ave & Old Town. The office staff was overall very nice, although there were a couple bad apples.
Overall not a bad place. I honestly would rent there again if they were not raising rent. However, I think the new rental rates are not economical. There are better deals to be found out there. I know I found a better one...
