I lived at Scottsdale Gateway for a year and I did not have any complaints about the actual apartment itself. I have however had issues after issues with the leasing office. Everyone seems very nice and they are, but they were constantly over charging us every month whether it was double charging for rent then leaving eviction notices on our door to over charging on utilities and getting our apartments paper work messed up with anothers. Each time I would go into the office to try to straighten things out, the issue that I was having would be blamed on another co-worker, and the issue still would not be resolved. I received my move out statement for the last month with the estimated total to move out on it, and it was completely wrong! Once again I went into the office and talked to the "head" manager, he proceeded to apologize for the mistake and gave me a new move out total. A few weeks later I received yet another bill in the mail saying that we still owed over $400 for a move out fee. As a student, I live pretty much from one pay check to another...as do many of the other tenants, and when someone gives you a total for the amount that you owe, you budget off of that. After having 3 different totals and have it increase significantly each time, I have become completely irritated. And then they threatened me to take me to court because I didn't have it paid in 5 days. I just want everyone who is looking to move into these apartments to reconsider because you will get screwed out of your money, and to everyone who does live here, make sure you are reviewing what you owe for rather than just paying it because more likely than not, you are overpaying and not knowing it!

Wow, I had a similar experience with them regarding the "move out total." They gave me a written and signed doc with one amount, then when I moved out and brought in final payment, they said a mistake was made and I actually owed them $30 more. They never put the new amount in writing - just billed me for it. I could have taken the written document to a court and gotten my $30 back, but frankly, it wasn't worth the time and effort. Not a positive way to say buh-bye.

The staff is nice but totally incompetent. They have lost my rent check repeatedly. They have also towed away my car because the towing company that gives them kick backs made a mistake. I can't wait to move out and get screwed like everyone else I know that has moved out.

This has also happened to me and a BUNCH of other people that I know. I would not recommend living here at all! My situation was terrible because they never returned my calls and when I would call them back, they had no idea what was even going on...typical Gateway. Do not be fooled!
