Really, not so bad.

I have lived at the Sierra Vista Apartments for two years now, and it is not nearly as bad as most of the reviews on this site make it out to be. I have had issues with loud neighbors, but frankly that sort of thing occurs everywhere, especially in a party-school college town like this one. For the most part, the staff is courteous and helpful, and repairs happen quickly. Given that you don't pay the electrical bill, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Also, this part of Tempe does have a fair amount of crime-- but you can look online to see how many times the police have been called to each apartment complex, and for what-- and other apartment complexes in the area have much worse records for car break-ins, etc. I did have a problem with roaches at first, but it was nothing that a few roach poison traps couldn't take care of. At any rate, I would live at the Sierra Vista apartments for another year! It's not the finest apartment complex ever, but it costs much less than others in the area. Just exercise common sense, and don't leave your car unlocked on the window rolled down (and don't leave CDs sitting out in plain view in your car!) and buy renter's insurance (as you should do anywhere!) and you will be fine. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
