I have lived in Sierra Vista 1 for two years.

Pros:
I love the location: 10-minute drive to Sky Harbor Airpot, 5 minutes from ASU by car or bus or 15 minutes walking. 4 bus routes go by the nearest intersection: Red Line which can take you to campus or to the airport no need to call a cab, a shuttle or bug someone to drop you off or pick you up), 30, 44, and 62, all of which go by ASU. I haven't had any major issues with maintenance, but occasionally things do come up. They have replaced all the machines in the laundry facility; they are now operated with cards (no need to carry around a load of quarters anymore).

Cons
The apartments are old and a bit overpriced. I didn't mind so much because the electricity used to be included with the rent so you could save lots of money (You could run your AC all you want, not a small detail in blazing hot Arizona!). However as of this month electricity is no longer included, so you might find a better deal somewhere else. Occasionally you might see a roach and need management to send someone to your place to spray it. With all the parking space available, surprisingly few spots are covered and you have to pay extra for covered parking.

Overall, I don't think it's that bad. I think it's good for people who don't need the latest fanciest most fashionable place. I'd totally recommend it if they had the electricity deal going on. Now I think you might find a better deal elsewhere. Not so bad over all though. I'm moving out of state and saying good bye to Sierra Vista for good.
