Terrible living environment, do NOT move here

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I've lived here for 3 months now and it has been the worst experience of my life. Maintenance is not very helpful at all, and not even a flooded apartment is considered an emergency. I called on a Sunday with a terrible leaking pipe that flooded the whole bathroom. "Put a bucket under the leak until tomorrow" was their response. Appliances do not work correctly.
2 police reports have been filed in 3 months. 2 friends and I walked to a gas station and were jumped and beaten in front of the apartment complex. Then 2 months later (on Christmas day) a man broke into and attempted to steal my car. They refuse to hire security.
Management does nothing to help this situation unless I want to pay almost $1,000 to break the lease. They may transfer us to Parkside Apts. but from reading reviews, it doesn't look much safer at all.
I shouldn't have to be scared to go outside in the middle of the day and I shouldn't have to cross my fingers that my car will be there in the morning.
Ridiculous! Do not move here!
