We've lived at Signature Place for nearly 4 years and since it was sold to Bernard/Allison we've been extremely unhappy. We like our apartment but the staff has made us feel not only unwelcome but have made us feel like they're trying to get rid of us! The office staff has always been unfriendly and quite frankly, a bit incompetent. For example, our lease is up for renewal at the end of this month and the renewal 'offer' we received included a $100/month increase in rent and no free rent whatsoever. I had my friend call the office to ask what specials they were offering on my floorplan and found out that they're offering not only cheaper rent but also free rent! What is this supposed to make us think' When I spoke to the manager about it, she informed me that she is not authorized to make any decisions when it comes to the price of rent and the amount of the special -- the manager doesn't make decisions regarding pricing'! They seem to have the money to remodel their front office and give away plasma tv's but they're not willing to give anything to keep current tenants. In the time we've lived here, we've only had to have maintenance come to our apartment 3-4 times. Of those times, I can think of 3 of them when we had to call back to the office 2-3 times to remind them of the work just so that it got done. Once when our washing machine wasn't working, I called in the work order. After a week of no response, I called back to the office, only to discover that it had never been put into the system to begin with! The parking lots aren't well lit at night -- my vehicle was broken into this summer while it sat parked right outside my garage door. All in all, the quality of life has gone downhill since Bernard/Allison moved in. And I would not recommend choosing Signature Place as your new home -- I think you'd be making a mistake.
