Been living in the Tempe area for 9 years and lived in a number of apartments. So far, Sonoran Ridge is one of the better places. The management staff changed a few times, but everyone was very professional and friendly and helpful. The company that manages this property (P.B. Bell) makes it clear though that they consider this an inferior property because the good maintenance personnel keep getting transferred "to a better place". The new ones that come in are pretty good people too, so the complaint is not that serious.
Although the apartment has basically one uniform floor plan for the townhomes (2bed 1.5 bath), there are some minor differences. The apartments at the back of the pool are in the vicinity of a car wash where some very inconsiderate people often blast their car stereos, sometimes even during middle of the night, so that is a concern.
Some units have one of the bedroom doors being unusually small. The kitchen cupboards are at a very awkward height, there is no ventilator above the stove.
Overall, my experience staying here has been very good with lots of friendly people here and there. Some times there are problems with noisy neighbors, but the management always make sure that the issue is resolved. I would recommend this place as one of the better places to stay near ASU.
