OK...I have lived in a fair share of apartments, and for the cost, this is the worst value of all the ones I have lived in. First the women at the office tried to give us the empty three bedroom at the front of the complex where they are working on the lightrail construction. That means noise all the time. Not to mention they have been working on it since we moved here last May making it tough to get in and out of the complex or give directions for friends to find get here.
They ended up putting us over the pool. We were thrilled with a great view, until we realized that the buildings are echo chambers and you hear every screaming drunk college student who comes home at all hours, the planes which do stop around midnight, and the train which is all hours of the night. You also hear every time someone opens the gate as it bangs shut when someone goes to the pool or elevators, you hear everything like its in your room. Speaking of elevators, the one in building D my current building is ALWAYS broken.
For a three bedroom apartment you get one parking spot in the underground garage so I rent one for an additional $50 a month, and I have a cat $20 more a month putting our rent near $1800. The gates in the residence-only entrance have probably worked a total of one month since we have lived here. Here is the biggest thing...I have a company car its the one I park in the underground garage but my personal car sits in the lot above. In Sept. it was STOLEN from the so called "security patrolled" lot with gates. The police found it in Texas smashed.
Our latest problem is that we cant get the college guys below us to stop playing their music at all hours of the day and night, and now we are working with the office to explore legal action. The only good thing we have noticed is that they have staff cleaning everywhere all the time, and when we have had issues with maintainence they are prompt in fixing things.
Our lease is up in May and it can't come soon enough. Take this warning from someone who knows....find somewhere else to live.
