I signed my second 12 month lease with Wilshire Pines in August, and can honestly say that the complaints listed are totally unwarranted.
The management staff is very, VERY friendly! I have never witnessed them doing anything other than going out of their waye to accomodate each and every tenant's need-be it a simple cheerfull greeting or an actual emergency. In the 14 months I have lived here I have NEVER seen a single bug in either of the 2 apartments I've occupied. The laundry facilities, along with the pools, hot tubs, and courtyard are clean and well maintained. As long as you do not harbor delusions of grandeur, expecting a personal maid service to wash your dirty socks to be included in your monthly rent of appx. $575.00, the short walk to the laundry room is not very far at all. Hey, now and then kids are going to get a little loud - they're kids, give them a break and let them play in the pool!! Wilshire Pines provides a friendly, relaxed environment without attempting to empty your bank account. Hats off to Tami and Dre for all their work and endless efforts to improve upon the quality of life without constant rent increases (not one since I moved in!)
In all honesty, as long as you can manage to keep your home even moderately clean and walk a maximum of 50 yards with a laundry basket, this complex is the best deal in Tempe - truly a hidden jewel of the desert!

I completely agree with this commentary. My roomate and I moved here from Ohio and after calling several apartment complexes, we immediately knew that Wilshire Pines would be the best fit for us. Tami and Clint were extremely helpful and made the move-in process easy, even from across the country, as they planned for our arrival. The entire crew is friendly and outgoing and the for the most part, the neighbors are not a bother. I've not once had my car broken into nor been faced with any other issues that were unable to be resolved. Any maintenance issues we have had have been dealt with promptly. So, if you're looking for a fairly inexpensive, "homey" place to live, Wilshire Pines is the place to be.
