Don't even THINK about moving here.

7700 place is horrible. My main complaint is the maintenance and customer service (or lack thereof). One of the first things that I noticed is that I couldn't get cable or internet, despite being promised it before I moved in. Turns out the cable hookup line in my apartment didn't go anywhere, and I had to wait three weeks while they laid a new cable underground. I couldn't get a satalite because this complex has rediculous rules governing where they can be placed. Despite ugly, cumbersome dishes sitting on the ground or on stilts all over the complex, when I tried to install my own, I was told that it was against the rules, and that the other dishes were "grandfathered in" before the current company took over the complex.
Also, my oven didn't work for three months. When I turned it on it would trip the circut breaker and sometimes short out my whole kitchen. I had to open the electrecal box to get everything working again. I called the maintainence guys several times over this issue - who would usually show up several hours after I put the call - and then for the wrong reason, thinking they were there to fix my hot water or AC. I finally was able to fix the oven myself, though I don't really know how I did it or if it will break again.
Another thing: the pool. One thing that drew me to 7700 place was a large pool and two hot tubs. The staff member showing me the place first claimed the pool was heated year-round, then upon further questioning, changed that to "only in the winter". Turns out it's NEVER heated. Plus, the hot tubs frequently break for days at a time, and myself and other tenants have had to persistently badger the office staff and maintenance guys just to get them working again.
Also, the parking spots. Several of them are lacking the concrete stoppers at the end, and one part of the parking lot drops off into a dirt rut. A friend of mine was parking his car and accidently rolled off, expecting to come to rest against a concrete stopper. His front-wheel drive car was then quite literally stuck in the rut, and he was forced to call AAA to get towed out. This is more than just a huge inconvenience; it's a safety issue.
Oh, and if that weren't enough, there has been no hot water at the laundry room for almost a month now. I've had to take my whites elsewhere to get them washed. Who knows when they'll get this fixed.
Other than the horrible maintenance and service, 7700 isn't bad. The grounds are well-kept and look nice, with the exception of satalite dishes placed at random and odd areas - some can be tripped over or run into if you're not careful. The apartments themselves are comfortable, although the AC and heaters are incredibly LOUD. The other noise issue is that we're right next to a fire station, so when some drunk burns off his eyebrows at 3 AM, you have to hear sirens lasting up to a few minutes, easily loud enough to wake you up. And I live on the south side of the complex, far from the street, but I can still hear it.
There's a basketball court and a very small, poorly ventalated workout room with two treadmills and a few other machines. There's also an indoor raquetball court that really had me intrested, unfortunately, it's been being renovated since I moved in, a process that isn't expected to be done anytime soon. Big surprise.
Don't waste your time with 7700 Place. There IS a Jack In The Box and Arby's right across the street, but it's so not worth it.

I have lived at 7700 Place for more than a year now. 1. My A/C broke a week ago and the very same day they came to fix it, even within an hour. The apartment manager called me the following day to ensure everything was done properly. 2. The hot tub nearest my apartment has broken once since I've lived here, and it did take quite awhile to fix it (over a month). But it has been well-maintained ever since. 3. I have never had a problem parking my car. Unlike many complexes, this complex has plenty of parking spaces. Sounds like the friend needs to learn how to park properly. :) 4. It saves energy to not use hot water to wash clothes, plus it is better for the clothes themselves. Try it. :) 5. I am a light sleeper and often turn the A/C on at night to help me sleep. The noise has never been a problem. 6. As I just said, I am a very light sleeper. I have never woken up from sirens and I live towards the edge of the complex. The only time sirens CAN be a problem is if the windows are open. 7. The racquetball court is definitely a disappointment. I have wanted to try it out for awhile, and have not been able to do so.

Well aren't you just a smug little -----? Someone needs to learn how to drive properly? How about it's the responsibility for the complex to have those concrete barriers because it's safer? And if they promise a laundry room with hot water, they should deliver on it! Moron.

I used to Live there a few years ago and I ran as fast as I could the moment I got the chance. The racquetball court has been turned into a storage unit for the maintenace men!! That is why it is being "renovated". The siren are a problem even when My windows were closed I could hear them and i lived to the back of the complex. The management team changed so much that I practically collected those introductory joke of a letter they all send out saying that they are going to be different! I had to call the police a few times a month because the sounds of some girl being beatten would echo through the complex! But I havent lived there for over a year now so things might have changed but seeing the date of this post has lead me to believe I made the right choice in leaving this place!
