I have lived in Tucson for 3 years and Altamira is my 3rd apartment. I am a serious graduate student, who needed a quiet place to study. I previously lived near the University (which was a nightmare), there were constant parties, you could smell pot in the air every night, and police would always be in the parking lot because of some incident or other. I admit that I am a very picky person who needs a clean, quiet, and most importantly safe place to live and I have found it here at Altamira. The management is amazing, they have helped me in situations when I was out of town and couldn't be there to take care of my apartment situation. The maintenance staff are quick and will fix things right away. My neighbors are quiet and respectful. Its so quiet around here I can go a day without ever running into a neighbor. The tenants here are older folk but very friendly.
From the outside Altamira may look a little plain, its not your typical luxury style apartment. However, the units are spacious and have great views. The pool is gorgeous and overlooks the entire city. The gym is small but clean. I have been so fortunate to have found Altamira and can only hope that I can find a place equally great when I move to Phoenix in a few months.
