Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I have been lving here for a year and a half now. I actually came upon this website before I moved in. I saw the bad ratings, and figured..I'd have to see for myself. It was unfortunate, because I had a really bad situation and I needed a place to move into asap! So I found this dump and moved in. Yes, it looks nice at first, but it's all downhill from there. The staff was nice until I signed the lease. I have had a few run ins with the people in the office. They are rude and unprofessional. There is one nice person who works in there now, Stephanie. She's the only one I prefer to speak with. There seems to be constant turnover in the office and with the maintenance. Either that's because they're doing such a great job and getting promoted to do bigger and better things, or something is truly wrong...go figure. There are also a lot of EMPTY apartments. I constantly see people moving out! I've learned that in an area like this one (really nice area, highly reputable), if there's a lot of vacancies than 1) they are overpricing the apartments or 2) There's something wrong with the place internally 3) BOTH. I think it's BOTH for this place.
I haven't had a roach problem, but the walls are paper thin. I understand that these are apartments, but geez! They do allow dogs and they do supposedly have breed restrictions, but I too have seen dogs walking around here that are on the restricted list. Although the Arboretum supplies doggy poop bags, many dog owners still let their dogs poop everywhere and they don't clean it up.
What else'''' Maintenance will just come on your patio and move stuff and call themselves fixing something and NOT alert you to what's going on. I've had people come around and turn off water, install things, etc, without giving me any notice that they where going to do so. One time I asked one of the maintenance guys why they just shut my water off and didn't tell me and the guy yelled at me stating that "they weren't going to stop what they were doing to come and let me know." I thought that was rude. I was only asking because there was a problem with my neighbors apartment, and I didn't want to add to the problem just in case I was unknowingly causing it. I wasn't trying to start anything....but I never forgot that. That was 4 weeks after I moved in....
Yes, I have been here a little while and I DO NOT intend to renew my lease. I was going to wait until I moved to post something on here. I just happened to stumble onto this website because I am looking for a house...It amazed me to see that there are other people that feel the same way that I do.
The price that is charged to rent here isn't bad when you consider the area. But other than that, I would look elsewhere. They're lenient to people with credit issues. So that brings in a mixture of people. There are some REALLY nice people that live here, but then you have your -------s too. I guess that's everywhere (I am trying to be fair). Your have your low budget trailer trash and your dainty upper class. I think there are more good than bad people here, but it ONLY TAKES ONE to screw it up.
Oh yeah, I've regularly seen the police here. Some of the neighbors here are extremely rude; partying and just being really loud all times of the night.
Parking lots are nasty. I have to walk from my apartment (which feels like from sunrise rd - tanque verde) to get to my car. Spots are not conveniently located. There is very little open parking. If you're having guest come over, they may not be able to find a spot. I've noticed that there are tenants that park in the open parking because it's closer to their apartment than their assigned spot. I can understand why they park like that (cause I HATE walking 15 miles to my spot too), but it's not fair to others who do actually walk or may be having company. Their guests may need that open parking spot that's being occupied by someone that has an assigned spot. In other words...some people ar every inconsiderate.
Depending on the location of your apt, you may have to walk a mile to the the laundry room. They generally keep them clean, but I have seen them dirty and nasty a few times. And the other day, there were some teens hanging out and smoking in there like it was a clubhouse.
They went through and cut shrubs and trees last summer, but the ones they cut didn't need it. I've had a dead tree in front of my apartment since I moved in. I was waiting for it to be blown down during the monsoon so that I could sue for damages.
Like I said, this is an apartment complex and you have to roll with the punches, but if you can afford better, please don't move here. Find a rental home or a condo or something.
Please, PLEASE do not read all of these bad reviews and think that people are being spiteful. I saw them and didn't take their warnings. Now I am just counting my days down until I move. These have been my observations since moving in and I am not telling you all of this for my own good. This place is ok if you want to build up your credit and save a little money...other than that, stay away.
