When we moved into Arcadia Park in 2003, we were offered an awesome rate and a generous concession (1 month free). We even received a preferred employer discount. This lasted for 3 year-long leases (and several changes of ownership). In 2006, we were notified that, not only was our rent going up, but we would no longer receive the discount (which we were okay with), nor would they be offering concessions for existing tenants. When we asked about the concessions that were being offered to new tenants, they said they wouldn't answer that question. The reasons that were cited for the rent hike: building a fitness center, re-doing the landscaping and renovating the office. That was a year ago and so far only the office has been renovated. Out of the 3 ladies working in the office, only one is pleasant and seems to care. The others don't really seem to want to retain their exisiting tenants by treating them poorly. Security-wise, in the nearly 4 years I've lived here, I've seen the portly, walking patrol-guy twice. Additionally, my car has been broken into, as well as several other cars. After an incident with a strange, drunk man knocking and screaming at my door, I asked if a peephole could be installed that is lower (I am too short to see out of the existing one). They said absolutely not, that I could just look out the window. I understand that making a modification of this type is not in the property's best interest, but shouldn't they be looking out for the interests of their tenants' The landscaping, while nice, is a waste of scarce resources in the desert. The sprinklers run in the middle of the day, which is the biggest waste of water. There was a day when they ran all afternoon. After about 5 hours of this, I called maintenance to alert them and they just said, "There's nothing we can do about it." Ridiculous and so wasteful. Our experience has been disappointing. Although the maintenance staff is awesome (and we've had LOTS of experience with them) and the one lady in the office is nice, we feel as though the management of this property is not interested in retaining their tenants, nor are they interested in providing a decent, respectful experience. After all, we are just dollar signs, right' vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l
