It is true AZ Commons is VERY close to campus, i walked everyday and it was fine, the pool is nice, laundry facilities had gone up in price right after i moved in, which sucks, cameras were installed after the panty theivery and i did live in one of the newer remodled apts so it wasnt as crappy as the older ones, which i saw...and they were crappy. The apt complex is a freakin maze and you better be in shape if you live there cuz u will have to climb a bizillion stairs depending on where u are located. Security works on the weekends, parties dont get broken up unless they are extremely loud and obnoxious, which they usually arent. Drinking isnt allowed at the pool. If you live in a 2nd story apt your ass is going to spend almost $100 during the hot season if you live there for AC. Im living there now and its set at 75 and im still sweating. Management isnt exactly the nicest of people, they are slightly rude, but they arent exactly ignorant, and when you request something to be fixed they usually do fix it, or continue to "try" in a reasonable period of time. They did however use some of the money they recieve to build some ridiculous wooden ramada thing thats like 10 ft tall covering a pool table, which hardly ever is used. The building also took place mostly at night, usually around the time when you would prefer to be sleeping...say like midnight...on a weeknight. This was a huge waste of money id say, which could have been spent on a hottub or other amendment which would be more useful to residents during the winter. Overall my stay was pleasant and didnt cause too many problems that were not fixed in a reasonable amount of time, however i cant really boast on the quality of the repairs made consistently. The reason i am not living there another yr is because i am paying way to much to live there. They are constantly raising their rates, and i ended up paying over 340 dollars without acct for utilities to share a bedroom with someone when i could have had a single for that much. I would advise someone to live there if they are not too picky about quality, or if they are sure they are getting into one of the newer apts, and if they dont drive a car, because yes they get towed a lot. Yet if you have a car there is no purpose in living here, because the main reason to do so is for its close proximity to campus. Also, if you are not on a tight budget and appreciate having your own privacy, this may not be the place for you.
