please don't rent here

Years at this apartment: 2004-01-01 - 2004-01-01
I lived at Ashton Meadows for a few months and am very glad that I don't live there anymore. I had to call the police multiple times on my neighbors who fought all the time...yelling at all hours, fighting with knives, locking their child out of the apartment in the middle of the night, parties at all hours any day of the week, etc.
The management does change ALL the time. I don't believe that any manager has really lasted there longer then 4 months. They had a really good manager there last fall, but she quit. They seem to get rid of the managers/office staff who actually try to get rid of the drug dealers, prostitutes, criminals, etc and bring in other people who only care about the occupancy of the place. It can't all be about occupancy and filling the place up. They don't really care about their residents-as long as they get their rent check every month. (But then Greystar Property Mgt doesn't care about their employees either.)
The maintenance staff for the most part is doing as good of a job as they can do, considering the owner of the property doesn't want to put any money into making it a better/safer place to live. They have "courtesy patrol" but I wouldn't say that they do anything. The police are on property at least once a night. The roofs are falling in and sliding windows leak all the time. A 3x4 foot section of my dining room ceiling caved in. The maintenance guy fixed it, but sprayed popcorn texture all over my 1st edition 1800's books-all because he didn't take the extra 2 mins to lay down any covering/tarps, or even close the box they were in at the time.
The grounds...now there's a laugh. They attempt to keep the grounds looking good. But, they switch landscaping companies so much that once the grounds start looking better, there's a new company working on them. The trees fall over and there's always leaves and debris all over-in the pool, on sidewalks, stairways, etc.
I would not recommend this property to my worst enemy. It is a crime-free property but not in real life. It's just a paper you have to sign and then nothing gets done about the losers, druggies, or criminals. So, be careful if you actually do decide to move in to Aston Meadows. The nickname of Ashton Ghettos is not really so much a nickname as the truth. And if you already live here, you may seriously want to think about transfering to a different property...any HSL property will transfer you for only $150 and that could be waived if management deems it worthy.
I sincerely hope this helps you in your apartment search. Good luck...but be careful!
