I came down from Scottsdale to this apartment which was one of the nicest (or so I thought) in scummy Tucson. I had to pay $200 early move in fee for one week prior to move in. You have to pay for a full month's rent the first month, even though you only live there for two weeks. When I moved in, the apartment was filthy. I went to the front office, and they thought I took it "as is" and didn't pay the early fee. Needless to say, they messed up. The carpet was black from the dirt. They said that they would try to clean or replace it. They cleaned the carpet twice, and said that was the best it was going to get. The "tile" was stained and cracked in the kitchen and bathroom. Three days into moving here, I had to call the police because there were four huge guys trying to break in both doors of my apartment. Security is a joke. They rummage through the trash during the night, and look in the cars. As far as maintenance is concerned, the garbage disposal broke twice and they were prompt in fixing. There are quarterly checks, in which they inspect your apartment early in the morning, on the days I didn't have class and could sleep in. As far as noise is concerned, its a craps shoot. My neighbors were quiet, however the building over had parties EVERY night. The pool parties are AWESOME and crazy! Overall, look elsewhere. It's the most expensive in the area, and you can get a much nicer apartment for less if you travel a little north!

I'd have to disagree with this post. I lived there for 1 year in 2006-2007 and the place rocks. My apartment was brand spanking new clean, no dirty carpet, sure its a little expensive (if you think $500 a month is too much) but its the best location of all apartments in tucson, in terms of location to schools. Don't live north, you will drive for 1 hour just to get through the crappy tucson roads to UofA or Pima. Starr pass is literally across the street from Pima and 2 miles from UofA on a straight road. I never had a single problem with security, or noisy parties... in fact I wish there were more parties above me! Overall, I recommend this place if you like awesome pool parties and a nice place to live, in a great location.
