Catalina Palms

 

We lived in the two story townhome, which was spacious and pretty good for the price.

The first week we were there the bathtub on the second floor leaked severely into the kitchen on the bottom floor.

It took management so long to fix it that by the time they came, the ceiling in the kitchen had melted onto the floor.

That whole time I was taking baths and trying to fish the water out of the tub so it wouldn't leak as much.

We also lived next to a large extended family who were loud and abusive to each other.

I think our experience would have been better if we had had different neighbors.

There wasn't much counter space in the kitchen, which I don't like, but if you don't cook it's not much of a problem.
I don't think a second story is a great idea in Tucson, as I found out with this apt.

It was usually pretty hot upstairs in the summertime.
A couple of kids tried to steal our two kittens and we had to go around the complex trying to get them back.

On the good side, there were awesome views of the Catalinas and we got some great shots of rainbows.

The management was nice, and I should say, too that the management changed several times since the shower experience, so maybe that won't happen.

The landscaping was very pretty in the central area of the complex, but the parking lot, while functional, was ugly, and sometimes scary, and it's not covered, so be prepared to get into a hot car.
Overall, it was a decent place to live.

I don't think I'd live there again, but I don't regret choosing it to begin with.
