Cimarron Place

 

Since we moved in, the quality of the apartment and the tenants has gone down dramatically.

Several vehicles have been broken into (mine included), the gounds keeping has gone from good to passable, and MOST of the apartments have had problems with leaky pipes.

We renewed for a 6 month lease (after a year), and we have spent the first 2 1/2 months under constuction getting things fixed.

The local maint.

guy is a moron who doesn?t know or care enough to fix anything right.

There have been 5 managers of the property since we moved in (I guess the managers are smart enough to not stick around for too long).

It could be worse, but then again, I don?t live in Detroit.

I have updated my ratings of Cimmaron place for 2 reasons.

One, things got better.

And two, I don't live there anymore.

Some things didn't change, like when I left after 2 years and 5 property managers (when I left, they had two part time managers working there - one the weekend leasing agent, and the other was from another property - a setup that they had been working with for over 5 months).

Crime went down and people stopped trying to break into my car every Saturday night, and the maint.

problems I had were eventaully corrected when the problem employees left/got fired.

They also hired new landscapers, who did a better job than the original crew.

And they FINALLY updated the washers and dryers in the laundry room(which was well overdue) to use reuseable smart cards (which are a lot easier to deal with than a bunch of quarters).

However, they did drag their feet for several months about noisy tenants and resolving that problem.

Eventually that was cleared up as well.

I guess, all things considered, it wasn't that bad.

I don't know if I would ever move back there, but it wasn't that terrible an experience.

I'm teetering on the edge of recomending the place.
