I was aghast at the previous reviews that I saw on Deerfield. I was a resident there for 3 years (I left in Feb. of 04 because I bought a house) and didn't experience any of the things that the previous people stated. Having worked in customer service for more than 10 years, I know for a fact that it's usually only the people that have a problem that actually say anything. I felt obligated to give this property its props.

When I moved there from California, one of the first things that the manager said (and he's still the same manager) is that Tucson is like a checkerboard. Nice blocks are next to not so nice blocks, and so on throughout the city. Deerfield is in a decent area for the Central part of Tucson. They've put up gates, have alarms inside the units, and have a patrol service that walks thru at night. It's hard to ask for more on that note.
Maintenance is exceptional there. Pretty much any request I had throughout the years was repaired within 48 hours. Like a previous reviewer, my A/C went out once in the summertime as well. Not only was the repair done by the next day, but they offered their model for me to stay in until everything was okay. That was exceptional! I guess I come from a standpoint that stuff happens. Everything can't be controlled, and if the response is quick and professional then that's all that can be expected. They were always both.
There were times when I could here noise from neighboring apartments, but hey, I share a wall with people. It was ambient noise, and that's what life is when you live in an apartment.
Never did I have laundry stolen, but maybe that's because I stayed with my laundry. If someone takes it when you forget about it for a few hours, that's tough luck in my mind (that's happened to me at laundrymats before, so I guess I've learned).
The grounds are beautiful there. There is actually grass -green grass- to walk across.
Overall, for the price and benefits, Deerfield is well worth it. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but I wasn't paying for that. I have and will continue to recommend my friends to that property.

Good luck, and I hope more satisfied residents give this property its dues.
