I lived at the Hilands for 2 years. The staff was very helpful with moving in and moving out. The walls were pretty thin, but it never really bothered me. Parking was ok, if you came back after 9pm during the week, you probably wouldn't be able to find a spot. Safety wise, yes theres auto theft here, but it is Tucson...and thats just how it is. The grounds are very beautiful and its a nice escape from the normal desert scene. I loved walking my dog around the area. I never had any maintenance issues, so I can't really comment on that. My dog did chew and destroy 3 different spots on the carpet, I thought I was gonna have to pay about $900 but I got a bill for $215...nice.
Overall its a good place, probably one of the better ones in town. Definitely military friendly too and not too far from base.
