We've lived in the apartment for almost ayear and have been very pleased. We looked around town for a long time before choosing the Hilands and immediately felt they were the best value for the money. We have a beautiful view, washer/dryer, safe complex (as safe as possible in Tucson) and a great staff who are willing to help us. My husband and I have really enjoyed living here and would recommend it.

The above comment appears to me have obviously been written by the Property Manager. I have visited several friends at this property who complained about how unsafe it is, stolen vehicles, lights out all over the site, poor Management attitude. And this rating has been sitting at 41 for over a year. I have seen MANY apartment properties in Tucson and this one HAS to rank VERY LOW on the totem pole. Most apartments in Tucson are really hurting for tenants right now...vacancy rates are up. Oh, I learned the rents are low here, but you get what you pay for! Think 3 times before you rent here!!!

Believe the cons over the pros reviews of Hilands. Thin walls and squeaky floors, vandalized cars, peeping perverts, armed muggings, inadequate lighting, barking dogs, dog crap on sidewalks, old appliances, worn out rugs, rude office staff, and no promise of security -- written in the lease. Does this read like a great place to live??

It is so true.. exact same things that have happened with me.

Hilands does what it can to inform its residents. When there are peeping perverts and "armed muggings," they send prompt notices to the residents in order to keep them informed. All apartments in Tucson have these kinds of problems. Worn out rugs? Where, in the office? Certainly not in the actual apartments, as they are wall-to-wall carpeted. Are you going to get the best of the best living here? No. If you want that, then you need to live at a place that charges exorbitant rent. But you certainly don't get CRAP here.

I have to agree my car has been vandalized at least 3 times. I lived there for 4 years, the only reason I havent moved is because I dont have a car and I work at a walking distance. Staff are nice when you're not complaining about anything, late fees are ridiciolous, $50 on the 2nd day and $5 after that AND they send you a late fee notice and you have to pay for the notice..$10!! I moved apartments and they charged me for pet stains...I dont have a pet!!! I can keep going..... I plan on buying a car and moving as soon as my lease is up!!
