Kimberly Woods

 

I currently live in Kimberly Woods, and have lived here for 6 years in August.

In six years, they've raised my rent a total of $44 dollars (saying that its 'cost of living, and what my apartment actually goes for, but they estimate rental value higher as to show me a 'discount').

I guess that is typical, but what isn't is in 2001, they had in place 30 year old wooden plank steps that were ten foot across at the widest, with no workable handrail (it consisted of a 4x6).

The steps were worn and cracked (one completely down the middle) and this one, I fell from and collected $3000K from their insuirance company.

We had to switch apartments from the Jessica to Broadway side, and the Broadway apartment has a 1x1 1/2 foot section of ceiling directly above our shower.

This door was not screwed into place at first (until we complained several times to the office), and the door leaked filthy water from the upstairs neighbors apartment into our shower.

Nasty! They removed the door for 6 weeks in the summer last year and did nothing but laugh in my face about it when I showed them that my electric bill doubled in that time frame.

(Jessica's apatrments are bigger, and I lived in those for 3 and a half years with the electric never going near that amount.

Also...about the rental hike: I have a gas burning fireplace in this apartment, as part of the "charm"...it hasn't worked since the day we moved in, and even after several reports to the office, they haven't fixed it.
