Generally speaking, La Aldea is a fair place because it's brand new. That's the only good thing about it.

Because this apartment is built in a hurry, some paint on wall have already started chipping off since the first day. And the floor even is not flat at all.Under the first six month I live here, because of the other 2/3 part is still under construction, I've been wake up by the workers every morning at 6am.
( 6am worker starts to group up and chating,
7am they starts work, you can hear the truck and crane
and sometimes they forget it haven't 7am yet and start working. )

Even through La Aldea is 1 mile far from the railroad, due to there is no tall building in Tucson, you can hear the horn from 2pm to 6pm. The ear plugs are not help to this sitution, because of it is higher & lower freq band.

SLEEPING IN LA ALDEA IS A NIGHTMIRE.

Last year, I tried to get ride of the contract, they told me I could if and only if I willing to pay for all the rest months or find someone sub-lease my contract(and notify them in 60 days before and pay 700 for sublease). There is an cancellation clause, however, it said you "MAY" and they reserve the right to do the decision. You know what that means - IMPOSSIBLE.

So once, you sign the contract, you couldn't get ride of the contract in a year. Also the management group is not care about your roommate matching profile. I claim I will go bed at 12:00 and I want a smoke-free enviroment. But my roommate goes to bed at 5am in the morning and he does smoke. One of my female friend wants a female roommate, but she has been assigned a MALE roommate!! Manager claims it's a mistake.

An other serious problem is the wall is a way too thin here. Generally, you can join your roommate's chatting even though you're not in his room. You can hear exactly what he talk to the phone through the wall.

And Ambling(Management group) is not a honest company. They claim there will be a swimming pool, but there isn't. I heard that is because the landlord(UofA) don't allow them to do so. Ambling should have known this when they draw the blueprint, but they still claim there will be a pool on their brochure.

And THERE IS NO PARKING SPACE HERE, YOU HAVE TO APPLY THE PARKING PERMIT of UofA. And YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE PERMIT BECAUSE THE SPACE IS REALLY LIMITED.

My conclusion is if you're rich( yea, the rental fee is expensive ) and you don't care about living standard, you could live La Aldea.

Another suggestion to international students like me or out-state students, it's not that hard to find a good apartment in tucson. You can come here and live in your friend's place or motel, and find a good place to live even it about the end of July. Do not believe those BS La Aldea claim, there is alway free space left in La Aldea.

UPDATE: La Aldea is NOT a graduate dorm

La Aldea told my friends that there will be no undergraduate students live in La Aldea next semester( Funny, I thought La Aldea is a graduate dorm and there shouldn't be any undergraduate since the first day, right' )

However, today, I saw on WildCat, it said La Aldea now lease seniors and juniors; which mean La Aldea is b***S***ing my friends.

I found the business strategy La Aldea adopt is that providing f*** info on their brochure to allure you. But none of this will show on you contact. They know none of us have time to take this to court. They don't want to hold long term relationship with you. They don't care will you renew your contact because there will be always new students.

UPDATE 5/5
I'm really wondered at what kind of graduate student will attack other reviewers in order to present his ideas.
