I agree with everything that the other residents have previously written, especially the fact that the only good things about La Aldea are Doug, the maintenace guy and Dan, the office guy. Other than that, the only other good thing about La Aldea is that it is convenient because we don't have to walk far/drive to campus every day.

Now on to the bad stuff: On the advertisement for La Aldea that was given to us with the "50 Great Reasons for Living in La Aldea" was the following which we never got: Large closets, ice maker, beautiful landscaping, large bay windows, fully equipped business center, and professional management by Ambling. Ok, to start off with, the closets are by no means large unless you want to call that ONE closet in the ONE bedroom in the 4-bedroom apt. large. Next, what ice maker' An ice-maker is NOT an ice cube tray in the freezer. There is NO beautiful landscaping unless you like cement and dirt (when they told us they were going to be putting in graa=ss). The windows in LA Aldea are NOT bay windows- anyone who knows what bay windows look like (if you don't know, type it in in google and look at the pictures)will see that these aren't bay windows. What is the "fully equipped business center" supposed to be' I don't see one in La Aldea and lastly, this place hasn't been "professionally managed" by anyone, especially after the rumer that Ambling management left and now La Aldea is under new management.

Also, I agree about the undergraduates living here. I would not have signed a contract last summer to live here if I knew there there were going to be undergrads living here. This is La Aldea GRADUATE HOUSING- hence the name!

Also, where is security when you need them' I have recently had something stolen because the gates are NEVER locked. What happened to the 24-hour security that was promised to us' There have been problems in the past with roberies in La Aldea and with random people wandering in from the stree and you would think that someone would have done something about that by now...but unfortunately they haven't.

One last thing, the washers and dryers are way too expensive but even though we are graduate housing ON CAMPUS and pay much more than anyone else in Tucon to live here, we still have to pay $2/load of laundry which is expensive, especially for those who live in 1 bedroom apts. who pay $730/month!

My advice for graduates looking for an apartment: if you want to live in a convenient place, this is great. If you don't like the other things I mentioned, I'd find somewhere else to live.
