Everyone has mentioned the maintenance guy -Doug- to be a nice. Now stop and think about this, they only mention one guy. That is because there is one single person trying to keep in good shape this place (in full occupancy there should be over 300 people living here -btw, at the time there is only 1/3 of that number... wonder why'). After all the complaints you have read, do you think he can handle all this on his own' Of course not! Therefore, just by walking around La Aldea you?ll find this place far from being the "luxury" place they advertise (the only luxurious thing here is the rent we pay). The hallways are all dirty! Is a shame to bring friends over because this place looks and smells disgusting!

Everyone has mentioned the incredibly thin walls (forget about privacy unless you jam the stereo to full volume), but in addition, you have hollow floors. You can hear people walking 4 apartments down the hall! Not to mention if you have people living in the floor above you.

One thing that everyone seems to have forgotten (can?t blame them, there is so much to complaint about) is that this place is located across 2 undergrad dorms. The front yard is not only disgusting because of the bog, but because that?s the place undergrads use to hang out and smoke. So if it?s not flooded, it?s full of trash.

Heard about the "large closets"' Let me measure mine for you: 22 x 60 inches (56 x 150 cm). Haven?t met a single person that can fit all their clothes here without having to pile up things.

As an international student I thought this was a good place to live because is on campus and I don?t have a car (good lord, ?cause otherwise I would be struggling with parking too). Honestly, there are a lot of places that are just as close and offer better deals for less or the same price. Remember, this place is not furnished, has no pool (this is a desert, this IS a big deal -specially for the price), has no parking and management has set the precedent that is you have any problem at all, they would do anything posible to make you more miserable.

Oh, and if you are going to a program that is located at the University Medical Center (med school, pharmacy, cancer bio, epi, etc) this place is not convinient at all, it?s a 30 minute walk and 20 minute by the University shuttle.

A word of advise, take your time, look around and you?ll find a better place to live.
