Atrocious Parking Policy

I am a current resident at La Entrada. On the surface it is not a bad place to hang your hat. The primary reason I chose this complex was location. It is near downtown and close to the interstate. I don't even mind the intermittent train noise. The close proximity to the interstate was a plus before the three year I-10 construction project started. Where does all that traffic flow get re-routed' It starts non-stop along Granada, so its virtually impossible to pull out of the complex anytime in the morning or late afternoon. The appliances including the water heater are from the 80's. I live in one of the lofts and I have yet to receive an electric bill under $150. If you like to take long showers you need not apply here, I think I have approximately 5 minutes of hot water and thats if my roommate hasn't beat me to the punch in the upstairs bathroom. The worst part about this place is the parking policy. Basically, you get one spot. If you have a roommate, he/she will need to park off property. If you want to have a guest stay over night, well good luck. They will be towed. If you bring your own car into your own assigned spot with out a permit/sticker, you will be towed. The towing company has its own contract with the apartment complex outside of the management. If there are any problems the management basically tells you that their hands are tied. I suppose it would also help if the office wasn't staffed by temps. They even acknowledge that they don't approve of their own system. Obviously, I have been towed and my guests have been towed. At $200 a tow and $949 dollars a month rent, this place is simply not worth it.

Did you tell the office about the high electric bills? We had the same thing happen and the same day we put in a request to check things out maintenance was there and when through the whole apartment until he found the hot water heater was defective, and then it was replaced immediatly. Seems like you didn't tell the office of your concern, then which we feel it unfair you post this without them (the office) having a chance to fix it for you. We have two cars and we NEVER have to park off the property. Both of our cars are registered with the office and we have our stickers and we follow the rules and we never have a problem. I read the parking policy when I signed it and have never had a problem... the new parking policy has really made a huge difference here... before they started it was utter chaos here, now everyone has parking and the parking lots are patroled several times a night wich to me makes it feel even safer here than ever before... IF YOU HAVE BEEN TOWED IT MUST MEAN THAT YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW THE RULES YOURSELF, and then again, my wife and I feel it unfair that you post this to the world when the problem clearly is with you. John's in the office monday-friday it seems, and a lot of times we see him working on saturdays. He lives here too, which is cool. He does need a permanant helper in the office and he gets temps once in a while but we never have a problem getting in touch with him, when we leave a message he always calls back right away, so again. my wife and I feel it unfair that you post this to the world when it's clearly not the case. The rents down here are in line with all of the properties you can rent downtown, we know because we looked all over and chose this place after carefull consideration. Sounds like you should have not moved here in the first place, as you must have known what the rent was when you signed the lease?? We moved in on a special when the lofts were $929 but even at $949 we still thins that's fair if you want to live in the AWESOME NEIGHBORHOOD! Anyway everyone, we felt we needed to say this to set the story straight, we love it here and this person's review just is not what it's really like here & it made us mad!
