My husband and I have lived at La Jolla de Tucson now for about a year. We have 3 months left and I am trying to think of ways that we can get out sooner!!! Maintenance sucks! They tell you that they are going to fix your problems, however they don't show up and when they do they fiz it so cheaply, that a roll of ducktape payed for out of your own pocket would have done a better job! My vehicle was keyed and when brought up to an employee my husband was told that their's to had been vandalized and nobody around here does anything about it. Needless to say, we payed for it to be fix out of our own pocket!!! We have mold coming out of the vents in our apartment (while I am 4 months pregnant) and the office staff does nothing about it. When maintenance comes to look at it, that say it's not mold it's dust. However, it is green, it smells like mold, and it's causing breathing problems...IT'S MOLD!!! We have a 2 bedroom 2 bath and have to shower in our guest bathroom because our bathtub leaks and will not drain. The bathroom door has to remain shut because the mold in the bathroom is so bad that you can smell it coming from underneath the door! Our guest bedroom window leaks when it rains, and when I say leaks I mean soaks the carpet causing a mold smell in the guest bedroom and none of our guests will even sleep in there!
We also have a little dog who is pretty well behaved and left alone for a few hours in the day due to my husand's hours, being in the military, are slightly different than mine. We paid $200 and a security deposit of $500, the $200 is non refundable for the dog on top of @$20/month pet rent. We've received calls from the office telling us that our dog is barking at night...when we are home....and know for sure that he is not barking and have been told to get rid of the dog. Now why would you pay a pet deposit if your apartments are going to tell you to get rid of your beloved pet anyway'
When we first moved in, the residents around here seemed to be so nice and this was such a great place. A couple of months down the road, there were gang members hanging around, one of which had a gun and made a comment about my husband being in the military and that night we could not take the dog out because of the gang member hanging out on the stairs outside...with guns! More and more now we are seing drug deals, gang members, strange activity at night and definitely the kind of people that you would not want your child or wife around!
The biggest mistake I ever made was move in here, and I can't wait to get out!!!
