I lived at La Lomita Apartments for a little over a year (I had to stay an extra-month because I didn't give them notice in writing that I was vacating). Overall it was a very nice experience (my first apartment), and I have many fond memorys of the year that I lived there. The walls are paper-thin, and you can here whatever your nieghbor's are doing. That is really the only complaint that I had about the apartment except I had serious problems with the Apartment Manager!
1. I moved to La Lomita Apartments from Los Angeles to be able to be with my girlfriend (at the time she attended U of A), and she also moved to La Lomita Apartments. You see, La Lomita Apartments where in a perfect location for us because I worked off of Silverbell at St. Mary's Hospital, and I had the community college across the street. She went to U of A, and it was close for her, but it was far enough away so that she could have peace and quiet. We both moved there without planing it, and we had a good laugh when we found out we lived in the same apartment complex! I started having problems with the Apartment Manager when she phoned my girlfriends parents to let them know that I was living there as well (in a seperate apartment, though). I was so mad that she was interfering in my life, and my girlfriends Dad took forever to warm-up to me after that!
2. The Apartment Manager would phone my girlfriends parents to complain about me if I ever had any loud parties (again the walls are paper thin), and she would constantly try to interfere in my life!
3. When I was getting a new apartment in Phoenix the apartment manager from La Lomita got a call from them, and informed them that I still owed them money, and that I was late paying all of the time! The new apartment almost denied me an apartment because of her meddling, but luckily Lakeview at the Bay in Tempe, called back and spoke with the Assistant Manager (if I remember right her name was Dana), and she cleared everything up for me! I was never late paying my rent, and I didn't owe La Lomita anything.
Inspite of this I have some great memory's of La Lomita Apartments, and you can't beat the location if you are going to U of A. I don't know if they have the same Apartment Manager, but if they have a new one I would be happy to recommend this apartment complex to anyone! Regards from Los Angeles and good luck!
