I lived in La Quinta for 3 years, ending July 2003. Finally we?re out.

And be aware of the fat lady, manager, she is nasty, very nasty, as if we?re living there for free.

Lets see,

It started well, for one year, very nice manager, clean, reasonably safe, some noise, few rude people, etc.. nothing abnormal for an apartment.

Then a new manager, and a again a new one, and again, and again, and again, total of 6 managers in the last 2.5 years.

They started letting in, shady people, gangster types, unemployed, drug dealers, criminals, violent.
The police have a reserved parking lot there, they tend to come and visit quite often (2 to 6 times a month) sometimes they bring all their police friends too and their flaring cars. Once a drug bust, then domestic violence, once a car theft, and repeat.

For 2.5 years, mind you I work from 8 till about 6pm, the police must've come close to 100 times.

Weird people hanging out, doing barbeque in the balconies, they could burn every body with them, dog ----, dirty laundry rooms, dirty pool. No maintenance, and really forget about maintenance.

Absolutely no safety, every time we walk to the mail box, someone seems to be looking at us from a balcony, strong stench of weed drugs.

By the way, don}t be surprised to see close to 10-12 cars with Mexican plates constantly there, I have no idea how could that happen!

Overall, this was a nice place, till the end of }01 beg }02, when things headed south and never stopped.

Too pricy too, they upped the rent by $25 (use to be 575), then added all the utilities back, so you'll pay close $650/month/1BD.

I do not wish this place to any body.
For the same money, or cheaper you can get a more decent place, and that is what we did.

By the way you can check the Tucson Police Department for crime data for this area and you?ll see how terrible it was.
