Too Much Noise and Bad Property Management

Noise is definitely an issue! We lived in a three bedroom near the pool when we first moved here and had to move due to the parties during the summer time. There is an excessive amount of alcohol consumed at the pool. We have personally witnessed residents urinating on the sides of the pool and in the landscaping. We have also witnessed several people having intercourse in the jacuzzi.
Then there are the leaf blowers. They come every Mon., Wed., & Fri. and can be heard usually from 8am-1pm, that is when they aren't right at your door or window. They generate a huge amount of fumes and dust that hangs in the air for hours after they leave. The same blowers have been banned in several cities and counties, but when I asked the PROPERTY MANAGER to comprise on this issue, she informed me that it was my problem. She was completely unwilling to even discuss it.
Since we moved here we have had 4 different Managers. And I wouldn't recommend living here unless you don't mind constant noise and a property manager that is unwillingly to resolve simple complaints.

I experienced many of the same situations you have described in your post -- including the late-night jacuzzi "escapades" of certain residents! Your entire post left me with a feeling of validation -- so thank you. I never brought the jacuzzi incident to the manager's attention though, because I wasn't sure if the couple was just engaged in some sort of tantric swimming yoga. But it certainly curtailed my use of the jacuzzi, which is unfortunate. It was an ammenity that I was looking forward to enjoying a few nights a week here. As far as all the irksome noise, it seems to be getting worse these days, not better. I too have tried to reason with the property manager but to no avail. I wasn't even given any empathy. The rest of the office staff is very friendly and responsive, but I don't know there's much they can do as they are not at the helm. I do know this, we are not alone in our irritation and frustration. I have met a handful of other neighbors who are getting fed up and are simply going to find a new place to live. As one neighbor put it "La Reserve isn't the only game in town!"

Dear Anonymous poster on 3/6,
First I would ask how long you've lived here. I attend BBQ's at the pool all the time so I've probably seen you there. As a matter of fact several of us "regulars" at the pool discussed these same issues on 2/28 and they feel that the leaf blowing is excessive and management is more concerned with their "bottom line" than resident happiness. Actually we are one of the only "luxury" apartment communities that 1. blow the lot 3 times a week, 2. blow in the early morning, 3. use gas powered leaf blowers. They have been banned in over 50 cities all over the US. Currently they are banned within Central and North Phoenix,as well as some neighborhoods in the Tucson area. They are pollution machines and one blower generates the same amount of smog as 17 cars in one hour. Owners manuals state that anyone within 50 feet should wear hearing protection and a respirator. The particulate matter (PM) that they blow around contains dust, pesticides, break dust, spores, mold, and fecal matter. If you're okay with breathing that crap, good for you. I'm not, at least not three days a week for 6 hours at a time. I agree that the residents are friendly, but its also been my experience that the ones who consistently break the rules are the
ones who think this is a great place. The jacuzzi is actually closed right now, because some drunk idiots put bubble bath in it. Yeah, this is an awesome place. In regards to your final statement, I would love to leave, but would have to pay close to $3500 to break my lease, and I don't think anyone has bothered you with these statements- you came here and read them. That was probably the snottiest thing I've ever heard from a "friendly" neighbor.

Wow...I am surprised with how unhappy people are. I love living at La Reserve. I have had no problems and I live right by the pool as well. I see residents use the pool and barbeque all the time and they are so friendly! They always invite me and my daughter to join them for food! The office staff has always been great with any thing I have asked for. As far as the noise, yes the leaf blowers can be loud at times but it doesn't last very long and I don't know one apartment complex in Tucson or Phoenix who doesn't have to use them because of the rocks and trees on property. Go to any grocery store and you'll see them in the parking lot there also. The grounds are well kept and the people are so friendly. I absolutely love La Reserve and felt they deserve some kudos. If you don't like it, don't live here and leave the rest of us happy residents at peace :)
