Safe, quiet place to live

We had to choose an apartment online since we were moving from Boston with two small children. Legends was one of the few places that had the right combination of safe, attractive and affordable (for a 2 BR). Apartments toward the south seemed to have a lot of problems with auto break-ins. As a stay-at-home mother of two small children, I have felt very safe here. I don't feel like I am looking over my shoulder when I take the kids to and from the car. I've also been amazed by how quiet it is. The kids are never woken up during their daytime naps by noise from outside. I think the view and landscape is really beautiful, too. I love seeing the mountains every day. Feels like you're away from the city, but not so far away that shopping isn't convenient.
Personally, I have had very good experiences with management. They always respond to repair requests--even small ones--within a day or two. The staff are friendly and courteous. It's true that we have seen scorpions, a roach from time to time, and a mountain lion, but we live right next to a canyon and this is to be expected. We certainly don't have any infestations within the home.
Finally, I was very, very pleased by the good state we found the apartment when we arrived. It was in very good condition, and very, very clean. About the state you find a hotel room (in a 15 year-old hotel). Most of my neighbors have also been very happy with their experience here and stay for years. The community is composed of a lot of professionals, and it seems like the faculty who are joining UA tend to choose this complex for their first year in Tucson before relocating.
