If you've lived in Dante's Inferno, northpointe is nice

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
When we moved in the first thing we noticed was that, after maintenance was supposed to have fixed all the problems with the apartment, my roommate's door had a huge and obvious hole in it. The door wouldn't close properly and had no lock or latch. After complaining to the office for a couple of months, maintenance finally came and took the door away. Three days later they brought another one back. That's right he didn't have a door for THREE DAYS!!!
That is only the first thing that we noticed. When we went through our apartment and our rooms to fill out the form that said everything that was wrong with the apartment, none of us came out of it without an extra sheet attached to the report. All of the furniture needed to be replaced, all the counters were sticky, the ceiling fans were way out of balance, the place was just a mess. In the end we had to sit down together and compile a list of problems that we had, this turned out to be 2 pages long.
After we did this we took it to the office staff and let them know they needed to have maintenance come by the apartment. Then we went to the office and told the manager that maintenance needed to come by the apartment. Three weeks after the first request, they did. They fixed four of the things on the list and never came back. So we went back to the manager several more times and got similar results each time, until everything was fixed.
After living at the complex for a few months we started to get notices about not paying our rent. All of us. We were all paying our rent, and each had to bring proof to the office several times during the year. They just couldn't keep track of their money.
The first time I went to the spa, there was a disgusting film across the top of the water, and I couldn't go in. The excercise equipment was constantly broken. There were always parties going on, mostly in the apartment above us. When there wasn't a party upstairs the tenants just played their music really loud for the fun of it.
The security people wouldn't do anything as they were walking the property, even if they saw a party going on, or a fight. More likely than not they would just avoid that area of the property until the problem went away. They even ignored the fact that some of the people above us were urinating off their balcony, as the security guard was walking by.
Towards the end of my stay there are a couple of things that really stick out. First there was a day where some alarm was set off somehow, and it took the office staff a couple of hours to figure out how to shut it off. To me it seems like they should have been able to figure it out in a few minutes. The second thing that really sticks out is the tree that was lying in the handicapped spot for two weeks. For some reason the landscapers decided it was necessary to cut down one of the small trees on the property. Instead of disposing of it, they left the tree sitting in part of a handicap parking spot and on the ramp. The managment didn't do anything about it for, I'm not kidding, two full weeks. At that point I went to the office and actually yelled at them about it, not because I am disabled, but because it was sitting in the handicap spot that was no more than fifteen feet from a dumpster. By the way I only went to the office and yelled at them after I had called them three timnes earlier in the week to report the problem.
In summary I would rather live in Dante's Inferno than at Northpointe, or any property that is similar to it in any way.
