I currently live at NorthPointe, but I am moving out this Saturday. This place is completely ridiculous. It is run entirely by a college staff which have the cumulative experience and expertise of running an apartment complex of a pine-cone. First of all, maintenance is a joke. About a week after I moved in, the flusher of my toilet broke. It had been tied together with string previous to that (still unknown if that was the work of the "maintenance" man or another frustrated resident). It took them 3 days and just as many visits to the office to come and repair it. We also put in a request to have our dryer fixed because it doesn't dry clothes AT ALL. A week later the maintenance guy finally came and informed us that there was no problem. What'!' Seriously' I think we would know if our clothes are getting dry or not! Probably among my most interesting experiences here was when my roommate got evicted. He had been paying rent by goig to the office and having his mom talk to them and authorize them to use her credit card. Suddenly one day we get a notice on our door that he's two months late with rent because the credit card had not gone through and the didn't bother to notify him. So, his mom calls and is assured that it has all been straightened out. 2 weeks later there's a court notice on our door saying he's evicted and needs to pay two months worth of rent! Wow, can you say incompitent' Then they wouldn't even sit down and talk to him about it when he tried to have it fixed. So now I am moving out...as two of my roommates have already moved out. And, surprise surprise, they won't let me! I was told all I can do is sublet. So I find someone willing to take my lease at this hell-hole and NorthPointe offers them $10 cheaper rent if they take an already vacant apartment over mine! I've pretty much been told that I'm trapped living here until someone else is willing to take my lease. Seriously, good luck living here!
