I have lived here for almost 3 years, so I feel like I have a pretty good idea of how things work around here. This place has turned around in 3 years. It used to be a huge party place with hundreds of people on the grass. It still can be noisy, but not to an unacceptable level for a student complex. Let me enlighten you about a few other things. First, no one was shot, raped, killed or maimed here. As the other person said, use common sense. Second, yes, cars are broken in to and stolen. However, you have to remember: IT'S TUCSON, the car theft capital of the U.S. If you have an expensive stereo set up in a car with no alarm, it is going to get stolen no matter where you live in this city. Third, the office and maintenance staff is not even close to perfect but they get the job done. Basically if you aren't an idiot and keep on top of your affairs you wont have a problem.

I have been to alot of other student complexes over the years and I can tell you with confidence that you will find few better places than Northpointe. As you can see, I am not saying that I absoultely love this place. However, I feel the need to respond to the ignorant (parents I'm looking at you), frivolous and mostly IRRATIONAL posts that you will see below.

Actually, I was one of the people who was there when a fight between 2 gangs broke out. I was walking to my car and soon found myself in the middle of 2 gangs with guns pulled out. No one was shot but I think having the threat of guns around is enough. In addition, I used to ride my bike from school and I had a car full of men from Mexico chasing me into the complex threatening to rape me. One thing is right with this review: most of these problems are caused with living in Tucson. However, when I told the staff to move me far away from the grassy area into a different apartment and to fix the security gate because these men were able to chase me into the parking lot (but thankfully my neighbor was able to call 911 for me) the staff did nothing. In fact, they tried to charge me more for wanting to move to the other side of the complex. Further, when living there I had one of the small rooms that did not receive any good ventilation or air conditioning so I would keep my windows open. During one of the big parties a bunch of drunken idiots got on the roof and peed into my window getting it all over my bed (this was the night before a test). This was also the same night that my neighbor's car was picked up & carried into the grassy area and then flipped over & upside down by a big group of people. I have lived in over 10 countries (including Africa) and over 5 places in Tucson and many places throughout the nation. I have NEVER had so many problems with a place including waiting for my front door knob with a lock to be fixed for over 3 weeks. As an attorney now, I can honestly say they were violating many laws. Maybe they are doing the best they can do, but unfortunately their best is still less secure/amendable than living in a 3rd world country.
