First off: parents who are cosigning leases, your kids are not safe here... but I'll get to that later.

From the entrance Northpointe looks like a nice complex where residents can relax, feel safe and have a good time. Sadly looks can deceive and deception is about the only thing Northpointes staff is good at. If you notice the front of the complex and office are newly painted and well maintained, but a walk into the complex (where you'll actually be living) will reveal old chipping paint and worn down facilities. Broken glass is across the entire parking lot (from car windows) and across the complex (from beer and liquor bottles). Want to go swimming' What's that strange foamy substance in the pool' Ah here's the answer: a used condom. Oh that's a cute wild rabbit but what's that sticking out of its foot' Oh a shard of glass from a beer bottle. As much as I wish I was exaggerating the worst is still yet to come. The thing Northpointe lacks most is safety.

Coming home my first Saturday night at Northpointe I was welcomed by about 12 police cars blocking off the entire complex. Finally getting back to my building the stairs were obstructed by a cop wrestling some guy to the ground---which was an entirely separate incident. Stabbing, burglaries, rape, gunshots you could film an entire episode of COPS here over a weekend. For example here is a letter to all residents from the staff, "We hope that working in partnership with our residents, our patrol service, and the Tucson Police Department we can prevent the type of event that alledgedly occurred at the adjacent property this last weekend." Allegedly, besides the staff not knowing how to spell, a rape occurred. Police, crime and violence are synonymous with Northpointe and a bad reputation is the reason behind the apartment's name change a few years ago (it wasnt just one stabbing). Let's just say students at the U of A find the motto "get to the pointe" and the staff's blood red shirts slightly disturbing.

Inside the actual apartments it doesnt get much better. I wouldn't trust the locks on the door past a good kick (and that's when they're working). The paint job is shoddy; the blinds are bent; the AC is loud and shakes the apartment so much it feels like your on an airplane; if I had to choose one word to describe the free internet it would definitely not be 'reliable'; my hip '90s track lighting has one light dangling from it; half of the fans look like they will fall from the ceiling if you turn them on; the 2 foot hole in my carpet that was there when I moved in still hasnt been fixed despite about a dozen maintenance requests; oh and they keep telling us that we need to clean out one of our rooms for a potential new roommate despite all the rooms being filled.

If you want to step into a disaster with a bunch of underage kids out of the house for the first time getting boozed up this is the place for you. If you want to live, relax, actually study, keep looking for a different place to live.

This post could not be more misguided. As a resident, I remember the letter you are talking about. Unfortunately you were not smart enough to understand what the letter was saying. The use of the word "adjacent" in fact means a neighboring property and not Northpointe. The letter was talking about ???The Seasons???, for the benefit of our slow reviewer. Although the entire post is obviously full of uninformed rumors, one simple fact should tell you the level from which this poster is coming. NorthPointe changed names because it was bought out by a different company, not due to any crime or bad reputation. This is not hard information to come by, which is a testament to how uninformed and unreliable this poster is.

what about the girl who had a mental patient living under her bed for weeks without knowing he was even in her apartment. He was leaving her notes and sleeping under her bed. I worked in the leasing office the 2005/2006 school year in return for free rent on my unit and I tell you it is true. I know the truth of what happened. A Maint man left the unit unlocked and this guy wnet in and was living under her bed. This is not an urban legend or rumor. This is a fact. Northpoint was sued over it. All partments are unsafe and cars broken into, even gated ones. Parents should just be aware that a student communinty is not run by the u of a and your kid is no safer than anywhere else. Even the dorms arent safe if kids are looking out for on e another.

My friends lived in this complex. There is no security. Yes there is a gate but there are always people setting there waiting for an actual resident to open it and then they follow them in. My friend's tire was slashed because somebody went through the complex and slashed the tires of every other car. You can kick the door open (the dumb ----- they were matched with did so because she was locked out an too lazy to go to the office). Maintenence enters your apartment whenever they want. My friend (who was sleeping in just her underwear) woke up to find a guy in her room fixing the smoke detector or something. he said he didn't wake her because he didn't want to bother her. This place is a -------- (but they do have free tanning beds. yeah!)

one more thing to note: they say there are no animals but everyone has f***ing dogs and theres dog ---- everywhere seriously its very disgusting! the covered parking sux, the pool is always dirty, and the security aka renta cops only asked the minorities for there apt number and name instead of white people when there doing walk throughs at night! maintenance sux they take weeks to fix things, and they promise your parents stuff you'll never see.
