I'm getting ready to move out, and this place isn't quite as bad as some people say. Agreed, student living is kind of a pain. Residents here have no respect for others, and run around slamming doors and yelling at all hours. You get used to the helicopters flying overhead almost weekly as well- this IS a high crime area. But I was lucky enough to be one of the people who never had a serious incident. Photos on a website are always the best of the best, so beware that it is possible to still get a rundown place. We called maintenance 3 times within the first month for our laundry door before just leaving it off since the track was so bent it wouldn't stay in. Carpet has stains, linoleum in kitchen is peeling. But overall it could be so much worse, so I'm ok with it. Also, people DEFINITELY have pets in this complex, when no pets are supposedly allowed. The dog poop got to be incredibly irritating at times. Also, seems like landscaping people are always around working on who-knows-what, but the grounds are always kind of messy. They are noisy..
I never used the pool (or any of the other amenities like tanning beds and weight room), but it sure is pretty out there. I never had an issue with rude staff either. If you want to live by yourself, I wouldn't recommend it because of the crime. But if you have roommates, I could see it being a pretty fun place to live.
