Do not rent here

The staff was not as helpful as they should be considering the rent they charge {much more than other complexes in the area}. They acted as if they knew nothing about my arrival the day I moved in. They handed me keys and weren't even going to show me to the apartment. When I tried the keys they gave me, they were the wrong ones. I went back down to the office and they were going to just hand me another set of keys to try from a large ring of keys. I insisted someone else come with me, and lo and behold the second set of keys were wrong as well. And they wanted to charge me $50 for the remote for my garage {which is not attached}.
They didn't tell me where to put the garbage, {and by the way they don't bother to recycle because it would cost them too much}, they didn't show me where to pick up my mail, didn't tell me about how to get into the fitness center {and didn't give me a key for it before I asked about it}, just the simple things would have been nice.
I had many problems with the fixtures in my apartment. The cabinet shelves are pressboard, which means very hard to keep clean. My kitchen sink was dirty and stained the day I moved in. There were stains under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. The tile by my fireplace was cracked.
My kitchen and bathroom sinks both had leaks. It took me months to have the leak properly fixed in my bathroom sink. They argued about replacing the pressboard which by that point had begun to grow mold.
When I complained about the fact that my front door wasn't locking easily, they sent someone to fix it. They didn't line the lock up correctly and I couldn't lock the door again.
When I called to tell them it sounded like some birds were nesting in my chimney, the response was to say that since it was summer and I wouldn't be lighting a fire it shouldn't be a problem. No, they were not kidding.
I was on the top floor in the back with no neighbor next to me so I can't comment on the noise.
There was a washer and dryer in the unit, there is a pool, jacuzzi and fitness center. The office is willing to accept packages, and they do have a few movies you can "rent" free of charge.
