60 day notice'''

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I leased an apartment in April 2006 for 1 year. The middle of February 2007, I wrote a notice to the management stating that I would be vacating the apartment at the end of my lease. About 10 days after I submitted my notice, I was contacted by the management stating that my notice to vacate was not accepted because I didn't give them a 60 day notice. Mangement told me that I have to pay for an additional 2 weeks rent because my notice was 2 weeks short of 60 days. I was told that if I didn't pay the additional 2 weeks rent, I be charged $1,500 for breakking my lease because a 60 day notice was required in order to vacate. I explained that I had already given a 365 day notice of when I would vacate the day I originally signed my lease agreement. The managementwas very condesending and laughed at me when I told them that. I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex to anyone! Damned if you do and damned if you don't!
