Plum Tree

 

My experience at Plum Tree was mixed.

I feel it is a good complex.

The neighbors were friendly and I always felt safe.

The walls however are not well insulated and I had to sleep every night with my air conditioning on in order to drown out the noise from the neighbors above me.

Cockroaches are a big problem here.

They will spray when you request it, but they can't seem to control them.

My car was broken into in the parking lot, though there is some evening lot security there.

May is the manager and owner and can be very nice, but don't cross her because she will talk about you behind your back like she does with everyone else.

She's a gossiper! Also, get EVERYTHING in writing.

I was on a month to month lease and negotiated with May (owner, manager)of a move out date.

She gave me her word that she wouldn't charge me for an additional months rent if I moved out by a certain date.

I complied and was moved out by that date.

I received a bill for the next months rent from her shortly thereafter stating lack of notice to move out.

I have never received my deposit back and am still getting nasty collection letters for the months rent that she told me I wouldn't have to pay if I moved out in time for her to clean it and re-lease it.

It was an upsetting and hurtful experience for me and I am not alone.

I had other neighbors who have had similar experiences with May and Plumb Tree.

If you deceide to rent from there, just BE CAREFUL and KEEP IT IN WRITING!
