Yo!

Never again!

Oh, where to begin. We moved into Promontory 11 months ago mostly because of the great location, even though the apartments were small, a bit pricey and outdated. Once we moved in, everything that could go wrong, went wrong. On moving day, we opened the apartment door to find dirty, stained carpets in the living and dining room, Promontory cleaned them for free about a week later, but it was inconvenient considering they did not move or clean under our furniture which was alreay there. A few weeks later, our faucet in the kitchen (which was VERY old) had a leak and would not work. Instead of replacing the old leaky faucet, the repair man "fixed" (or rigged) the sink. Needless to say, it broke a few weeks later and needed to be fixed again. About a month after that, our bathroom faucet broke and needed to be replaced, too.

Then, the dreaded BUGS! We noticed the nasty pests in the kitchen cabinets when we took out a plate and they were running all over the cabinet and dishes. We called management, but they weren't willing to send someone IMMEDIATELY even though the bugs were EVERYWHERE in the kitchen. We had to wait for Wednesday when the bug guy came. In the end, they sprayed about 4 times over a few months, NEVER ending the bug problem. In fact, the bugs seemed to spread and get bigger. The last straw was when we got a leak under the kitchen sink. In summary: mold, bugs, water, and the notification from management that we had to vacate the apartment (we were on the 3rd floor) within 5 days to another apartment on the first floor (even though our lease ended in less than 2 months). We got a free month's rent from the manager because of this incident, but I'm glad I got the agreement in writing because at the beginning of the next month, they left a notice on my door stating that I had failed to pay rent and they were going to charge me fees or evict me, EVEN THOUGH I HAD JUST TALKED TO THE MANAGER a week before and she said I didn't have to pay or worry!!! Yet another sign that this complex is inconvenient.

To top EVERYTHING off, since we've moved into the other apartment, the second day we were here, the FRONT DOOR KNOB FELL OFF AND OUR CAR WAS BROKEN INTO. WHAT ELSE COULD GO WRONG!''!'! Oh, yeah, they wanted to charge us $300 nonrefundable deposit to have our satellite for satellite tv on our porch, even though it was on a tripod and not installed on the building at all. What a joke! (We didn't pay, and they didn't say anything!)

In summary, Promontory has been the WORST complex we have ever lived in. On top of our problems, we have heard of assaults to women here, peeping toms and consistent car thefts and break-ins. Although the grounds are nice and the repair men are friendly, this complex's negative aspects exceedingly overwhelm the positives. We are moving out 3 weeks early! My advice' DO NOT LIVE HERE!
