OK, but not recommended.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I lived in a 1-bedroom for 1 year. The grounds are attractive, the views are nice, and the exercise/raquetball courts are good. The pools looked nice, but I never used them. Laundry facilities are not bad. Most of my neighbors were OK.
Issues:
1. I left the apartment cleaner than when I got it. They still hit me with a bogus "cleaning bill" for several hundred bucks. This included the oven, despite the fact that I never once used it or turned it on.
2. Lots of noise from kids in the parking lot. I had a second-story unit, and liked to sleep with the window open, but I had to close it due to the noise from kids drinking and arguing out in the main parking area (typically from 11pm until 1 or 2 am).
3. My car was stolen from right outside my apartment. It was in a covered, lit spot. This isn't really Promontory's fault - the cops told me it was stolen by pros, and I have a high-profile car. But of course I did not feel too safe after that.
You could do worse than Promontory, but I'm sure you can do better.
