I lived here for 9 months. Moved here because the rent was less than other nearby apartments and it's close to other east side attractions. Everything seemed nice until I found out upon doing the initial paperwok that the only cable/phone/internet provider available was Qwest, an atrocious company that's claim to fame is our service is cheaper than the other guys. Well, you get what you pay for from them and I learned the same lesson from the retreat.

The Good:
I'll start off with the good since it's a short list.
The place was bigger than expected and had modern appliances with a nice layout and good cold a/c. The carpet was in like new shape and everything worked when I moved in and never had any problems with anything breaking during my entire stay.

The Bad:
The honeymoon ends as soon as you step out the door into the parking situation. It can be best described as a huge game of drunken musical chairs. Why drunken' Because the way some people park it seems they've had wayy too many budweisers and gets especially messy if theirs 25 spaces for 100 people. I did have a covered spot all to my own. However it was on the other side of the complex and I'd rather not park my car so far away I can't hear the alarm. This wouldn't be a problem if the gates weren't always broken. Either stuck open or stuck closed is how they were on a semi-daily basis. The main gate particualrly for a 1 month period where they had "wired" it closed and had all traffic go through a single lane in and out.
Where was security you ask during all this. He's probably still grilling on his back portch with smoke billowing into the complex again or peeping through windows at people at night with their blinds open. I guess it's ok for him to violate complex policies on balcony bbq's and being a peeping tom. He was so inept there was an abandoned car sitting in the same spot 75ft from his apt for 2 months without even a 2nd thought.
The management....hmm where to begin. I had no qualms whatsoever with anyone there personally. I just think it's the parkwood management company as a whole dragging it down since they continue to employ people who lack any shred of common sense or customer service oriented thinking. The office hours on the door are from 9am to 6pm. I rarely saw anyone there or answering the phone after 5:30pm. Except on rare occasions where I found an office full of women gossiping who were not there looking at apartments. I had a delivered package from a computer store disappear in the office and when I made repeated attempts to recover it showing documented proof of the office persons signature I was told it was a "mistake" and it had probably been left in the truck. Lo and behold it magically appeared the next day. In the very small pile of boxes where it had not been the day before. I also was given several notices I was going to have to re-knew my lease when I knew my lease wasn't up for several months. Come to find out the records in my file had been "goofed" and I was being accidentally notified. However this is all trivial compared to the ordeal I had to go through to get my paperwork to move out. My new apt had to get documentaion from them and their were countless times there was no answer in the office on the phone from me calling or the new apts. Upon actually talking to someone I had them agree to fax over my info. "I'll take care of it" was the response. Only by threatening action with the better business bureau did I actually get cooperation and them to fax the info.
If I were to give someone a recommendation about this property it would be to skip it and go onto a different one. I can only type so much other wise I couldn't fit in everything wrong with living here.
