I have lived at this complex for almost 3 years. I have always had maintenance come quickly to fix any problems, even after hours. The rent is decent for the size and quality of the apartments. This complex is located in a safe, relatively crime free area in East Tucson. There have been changes in management, and the latest company has friendly office staff and they are very competent. In the past, there have been office staff that was snobby and one group that was in there even lost my rent check twice, I think. The building I live in is right on Speedway, so that's kind of noisy because of the road. The other side of the complex is really quiet. People pick up after their dogs which is nice. The pool is gorgeous but not heated enough in the winter. Someone posted earlier about the pool being heated in the summer and I don't think that's true--the deepest part of the pool is only 4 1/2 feet so the summer sun really heats it up during the day. I had a problem twice with someone being parked in my assigned space, but that's not really the fault of the complex. Guest parking is hard to come by on the weekends. I would definitely recommend the Retreat at Speedway to anyone looking for a good sized apartment, a quiet neighborhood, and an excellent office staff. Now they have implemented a security service that does walk throughs at night.
