I too was subject to extreme niceness until I had to move out. I abided by all the terms and conditions of the lease agreement while residing at this facility. However, when my lease was up and I decided to buy a house, I was treated like an outsider. I cleaned and scrubbed my apartment (8 months pregnant) and upon handing in my keys, was sent a letter stating that I owed $500.00 in cleaning fees. How outrageous. They claim at the present time to substantiate the claims. The mistake on my part was that I didnt' do a walk through before handing in my keys. They lied and claim that I didnt' thoroughly clean the apartment. There is normal wear and tear that happens when you reside in an apartment which should be taken into consideration, however, I kept my apartment very clean while living there. If you fall into this issue, don't let them take you for a ride. They can't send you to collections unless they provide receipts of the alleged charges they are claiming you owe.
Good luck when you move out!
