Yo!

Do NOT live here! Major maintenance problems

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006

First of all, when I moved in, my screen door was broken. Additionally, the doors never closed completely. Oh, yeah, my water heater needed replacing, almost immediately.
But, here's the clincher: READ ON.
During May 2005, my AC started dripping. I went over to the office, described the problem, vand they promptly sent over a maintenance guy. He brought over a vacuum cleaner, and drained the "resevoir" for the AC. He then said that he'd come back in a few days, when the ceiling was dry.
Of course, he never returned. A few weeks later, same problem. I go over to the office, and since it's a different person, I have to explain the problem all over again. This scenario is repeated several times over the summer.
Finally, I notice severe mold on the wall, since the water has started dripping down. The maintenance guy comes over, and says that they're have to replace the drywall. No problem. However, when they do come over, they just paint over the mold. I know, because May `06, the problem started all over. I peeled back the covering under the paint, and over the drywall, and noticed the same mold from last year.
I contacted the office, repeated the same story to a different person, and they sent over a NEW maintenance guy. This dude appeared to be concerned. He said that the last guy was fired, and promised to solve the problem. Now, I'm starting to belive them. BIG mistake. However, I get a call from the office, telling me that my new drywall will be installed soon. However,
1)Why install new drywall, if it's just going to be ruined by the AC
2) They never showed up or called, anyway.

It is now August `06, and NOTHING has changed. Since May 2005, I have had to put buckets in the hallway, under the AC unit during the warm weather. In fact, I just added another one. There is NO acceptance of responsibility for their (lack of) actions. Do NOT consider living here.
Oh, a few more things: my covered parking area is constantly being used by people who don't live here. Strangely enough, all the cars that park there have Mexican plates. Also, illegal aliens like to rumage through the dumpster, looking for credit card numbers, and social security numbers.
So, if after all this, you still want to live here, at least shred all your trash.
One more thing....the outdoor lighting regularly goes out in strategic locations, for days at a time. I recommend, if you're female, carry pepper spray.
